Hate Crime Reporting
Dorset Police Hate Crime Reporting
Dorset Police is working with the local authorities, partner agencies and voluntary services to provide drop in centres with trained members of staff who can help take reports on hate crimes and incidents. They can also report the incident on your behalf and provide you with advice and support.
Types of Hate Incidents and Crimes
A hate crime is any incident where you or someone else has been targeted because they or you are believed to be different or any incident you believe was motivated by:
race, religion, homophobia, transphobia, disability, age
Incidents may involve verbal abuse, harassment, attacks, damage to your property, bullying or graffiti.
Hampshire Police Hate Crime Reporting
For the police service to be truly effective and provide an appropriate level of service to the victims of hate crime / hate incidents, it is important that the community has the confidence to report hate crime.
A hate incident is defined as:
'Any incident, which may or may not constitute a criminal offence, which is perceived by the victim or any other person, as being motivated by prejudice or hate based on age, disability, gender, homophobia, racism, religion, transphobia'.

The project is for any young person under 25 who is gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans or exploring their sexuality.
This site won an award a Hampshire County Council award in 2004 for the way it engaged young people.

A national organisation who tirelessly campaign for the equal treatment and rights of the gay community.
Their website has usefull up to date and clear information about all aspects of support for the gay community. Information includes civil partnership information, workplace information, education for all and more.
THT (Terrence Higgins Trust)
The THT national website has sexual health information.
It has sections for gay men and information for people living with HIV.
CHAPS
The CHAPS (Community HIV and AIDS Prevention Strategy) website
This site is linked to a national theme that you may have seen in gay magazines or in venues. Previous campaigns have included PEP (Post Exposure Prophylaxis), condoms, chain of infection. This site is worth checking out for good quality information, support and advice.
GMFA
Website for the London based GMFA charity.
Information about groups and workshops for gay men as well as sexual health information support and advice. Check this site out if you are looking for information about social groups for gay men as they have a fantastic directory of social groups and clubs.
THT young gay men’s site
Really useful information if you are a young man who is gay, bisexual or exploring his sexuality.

Adult Male Survivors of Sexual Abuse
AMSOSA offers NON OFFENDING Adult Male Survivors, two support groups which gives you a unique therapy experience. Groups meet either on Monday or Friday evenings.
We offer you an opportunity to focus on the ability to heal and recover, by dealing with 1/3rd of your past, 1/3rd of your present, and 1/3rd of your future, covering aspects of the sexual abuse you suffered, yet focussing on the strength and courage you possess, and leaving the past where it belongs.
Chrysalis - Gender Identity Issues
The whole concept of Chrysalis has been developed from a need recognised by its three founder members.
They are a Counsellor, Social Worker and Specialist adviser. It has become very evident in their work loads that young people with Gender Identity Issues are slipping through the present framework of gender help agencies. With this in mind CHRYSALIS was formed.
